I had a laptop with 2 sticks of 4 gigs of DDR3 RAM, but it is temporarily broken, so I took a stick out from it and installed it into my other laptop. Lately though, it has been given me a lot of BSODs, usually related to RAM, such as "page fault in non-paged area". Is that because the RAM is incompatible? I would have thought that if it didn't work properly, my computer wouldn't have started at all. I should also mention that the RAM is working fine in the new laptop. Let me know if you need more information (frequency, computer model, etc.).

No, there are alot of differences in ram other than the DDR3 part but it should still work.

May not be compatible with other DRAM already iinstalled, may not be compaible with the laptop itseld, the timings may not be compatible with what's programmed into the BIOS (check for a BIOS upgrade), there's many things that will affect laptops and prebuilt computers - sadly, most all have 'locked' BIOS's and you can't change settings

Thanks a lot for all your answers! It isn't possible that I am seriously damaging the RAM or laptop, is it? If not, then I'll just live with the crashes.
