So this is my 12 post (TOO MANY POST ARRHG!) My question is would this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Msj9nQ be good for about 4-6 years and do all the part work with each other and stuff like that, and if you can tell me other builds around the same price range.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I live in europe and that build is about 908€ here so please tell if there are better builds around 950€ (1000$)

Is that CPU good (because it has a 3.0 Ghz baseclock so i was just wondering) and is that PSU really powerful enough for that build? And why... WHY would you include a Z87 if you can't even overclock that cpu?

I guess he would get a Z87 because that happens to be a cheap great buy in the U.S currently?? Probably not in Europe. Also you don't really need 16GB RAM TBH :p  8GB is more than enough for gaming. Also if you could spare $60 more or so you should go for the GTX 970 as it would be quite a bit more "future proof" :)  Otherwise you have yourself a pretty great build there although slightly overkill PSU? Why do you need a 750W psu?

Yes it's a very good CPU. There isn't much of a difference gaming wise b/t an unlocked and locked i5.

The 550W PSU will power the build. The GTX 970 is an energy efficient card and only uses around 170W while gaming. The CPU would use aroudn 160W, so you'd have headroom even with a 550W PSU.

I chose the Z87 motherboard because it comes with a free 8GB stick of ram. It lacks features that other Z87 motherboards have such as sli and isn't the best for overclocking, but since the CPU is locked there isn't any need for that. It's a really basic Z87 board.

No, maybe 1 or 2 fps, if that. You wouldn't need a 212 EVO for it.

Are you sure that i don't need the evo? Even when doing benchmarks and CPU intesive games?

Yes, the stock cooling will work. You could add it if you wanted lower temps.

And also what the "normal" temps would be 30 - 60? I can't answer anything after this post because here in finland the time is around midnight.
