The CX Series is very good. One of the best 430w PSU you can get.

NVIDIA recommends a 500 watt PSU, but obviously that's a general estimate. Theoretically you get around 344 watts from the CX430 after accounting for only 80% efficiency (20% of the power is wasted, naturally). A GTX 970 alone needs 145w. The Athlon 750k needs 100w. That leaves around 100w to account for the remaining components, any overclocking by the OEMs, or any reduction in PSU efficiency.

In short, a CX430 could pull this off, but why take the risk? My humble opinion is that you consider upgrading to a CX500 for under $50, especially if you're considering the GTX 980, which draws 20 more watts than the GTX 970.
