Ok so I don't know much about the new LGA 2011 v3 but would this be good for gaming, recording, video editing etc.

1. Grab 16GB of RAM any manufacture, higher speed preferably
2. PSU is a good PSU
3. Get a Z97 Maximus Hero
4. Get an I7 4770K
5. Get a GTX 980

No need for the X processor and the X99 mobo.
That build that I said would murder anything your throw at it, maybe add a H100i to cool the CPU and OC it into the moon

Sadly I can't return the GPU I already have it. Also I have enough money for that processer so I think I'll get it. So if I leave that build the way it is it will be really good or at least good enough

What programs are you video editing and rending in? It comes down to cuda vs opencl which do u need? Otherwise the cpu and gpu are fine I didn't check the rest

The build you made is overkill that's all. A 4770 or Xeon e3 1240 would be better for you

Without the gpu my build would still be good for you. I personally think your build is overkill

The reason I'm getting these parts is because I bought a LGA 2011 motherboard and CPU so I can return them and get my money back but I will be about 50 dollars short

No it wouldn't perform better, the 5820 is powerful, just trying to save you money. Keep whatever you have, all the CPUs we've discussed are top of the range
