Hi everyone! I'm turning 16 in 7 days which means I can get a job, yay the real world is approaching! I desperately need a new computer. I've been using a dell inspiron laptop for a couple years and it's so bad _-_ So when I get a job and save up i'm gonna build a gaming PC. I was wondering if the build could use some tweaking. I chose the CPU and GPU based on the websites reviews for best gaming CPU's and GPU's of the month. I know the PSU is way overkill but it's so cheap and has a really good review on jonnyguru. Wasn't sure if i'd need a heatsink since I won't be overclocking. My main game at the time is league of legends. I know it's not a tasking game but I want a PC that would allow me to branch out and try all the new next gen titles! Thanks in advance for any help. If you need any more information just ask and I'll answer.

In assuming you are overclocking, I got you a CPU that actually overclocks and it an excellent processor for any game on the market. The Haswell processors are warmer than previous generations so the 212 Evo won't cut it for OC'ing. I got you the best value CPU cooler on the market for a great price. It performs as well as coolers costing $20-30 more. I also saved a bit of money on your ram while I was at it. If you are not going to overclock let me know, we'll do a diff build!

The sweet spot for value these days for SSD's is 250gb, and that's what I got you. You'll love the extra space for all your games. The case you were buying you are welcome to, but it's a bit over-priced. In general don't pay more than $79 for a mid-tower...

It's a good build, from looking at it I'm confused. Will you be overclocking? You got a CPU that can't overclock, but are buying a CPU cooler and a Z97 mobo which overclocks. I'm going to offer some suggestions if you are OC'ing, alright? If not let me know and I can save you some money. Here are my suggestions, I'll explain in the following post.

The sweet spot for value these days for SSD's is 250gb, and that's what I got you. You'll love the extra space for all your games. The case you were buying you are welcome to, but it's a bit over-priced. In general don't pay more than $79 for a mid-tower. For $20 more you can buy one of the best full-towers on the market. If you don't like the case I picked try the Cooler Master Storm Enforcer, it's top quality and still cheaper.

I'm telling you man you don't need 750W, and in fact you don't even need 650, but if you're married to your PSU take it. It's just extra money that can't come back. I made an alternate suggestion on monitors. I know a little about them and considered the Asus VG248QE myself. It's nice, but is uses PWM (pulse width modulation), a technology that causes flicker and can be hard on the eyes. The monitor I picked is excellent, far better for picture and color quality and pretty close to as fast. If you are a hard-core FPS gamer I can select a good BenQ monitor for you for that, but either way it will cost less than the monitor you chose and be just as great.

You'll notice I changed your wireless adapter too. Getting a dongle is ok, but typically they aren't nearly as good as getting an actual card, it's worth the $20 more if you know you will need a wireless connectivity. I didn't touch your keyboard or mouse, but I would say take a look at the SteelSeries Sensei or the Razer Deathadder, both are fantastic gaming mice that are highly regarded and will not cost you as much. Alright, so for your headset. Here's something that non-audiophiles don't know: headsets with 5 or more drivers never sound as good as full-fledged headphones. Don't ever buy one, they're over-priced cans that will not be as good as virtually anything else. If you want a headset, the Slyr I picked is excellent in the <$100 range, particularly since you aren't getting a dedicated sound card. If you want to pay more than $100 then I'd recommend full-fledged headphones which are a world of difference. Any q's please ask!
