I have been searching on Newegg for a new gfx card for my hp pavillion p7-1414, all is stock minus a small RAM increase and changing to a Windows 7 and Linux dualboot. The GPU integrated in the mobo is starting to get underpowered.

My budget is ~$250USD and I already been looking at a EVGA gtx 660 card and a new XFX 550w PSU. I work in Blender so GPU rendering is needed and only supported well on Nvidia cards. Also would like it to handle games with at lest mid settings.

Did the measurements and I have the clearance for a card up to 9.5" long.

XFX TS Series 550W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Active PFC Power Supply

From what I seen the 660 is still considered a decent card for its cost. Just asking the community's opinion of this build.

Edit: Cleaned urls and added detail

I think you would be much happier using this setup, which includes a newer card and will likely serve your needs for further into the future than the 660 would have.
