C. L. In Chicago. Looking for a solution to recording tv shows using only a hd antenna on a hd flat screen tv that is supported with a magnavox dvd / vcr recorder. Will I need a digital tuner to do this?

Solution
Unless the Magnavox DVD/VCR recorder has a digital tuner, you're going to need a Digital to Analog converter (DTA). I'd probably look into getting a splitter. Run from the antenna to the splitter. From one end of the splitter, connect to the analog DVD/VCR Recorder (it will only record in and probably standard definition) and then from the DVD/VCR to the HDTV. From the other splitter output, run that directly to your HDTV so you can at least view digital HD programming.
