How to increase wifi area

Networking isn't my forte so I thought I would ask here. What is the best way to get wifi access throughout my house. Right now my router can only reach half of it acceptably. So what would be the best way to boost this up without breaking the bank?

Currently, where is the router/WiFI source located? What part of the house?

Its on one side of the house near my desktop. Its a sort of duplex set up so i need to get the other side wifi access without moving my router.

Well...moving the router is the preferred solution.
But there are several powerline solutions that will push the data through the house wiring, and output a WiFI signal at the other end.

No idea of how well it works, but it is one of many.

That looks like a good option. I've had good luck with power-line stuff in the past.
