CPU Overclocking Question

Hey guys,

Just overclocked my i5 4670k to 4.4 and everything seems good and stable. The question I wanted to ask is that now even when idle my cpu is going at 4.4. Should I have that adaptive mode thing on so that it'll only go that high when needed, or does it not really matter in the long run. Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm a total newbie at this overclocking stuff.

Solution
After stress testing my OC, I switch Vcore to Adaptive. I also switch the Windows advanced power option from High Performance to Balanced.

My CPU will throttle back when lightly loaded and speed up if extra load is present.

I do it so that my CPU will last as long as possible.

I also don't know much about overclocking, but stock CPUs will have their turbo boost which is about a 400Mhz. When overclocking it cancels the turbo boost and just uses the overclock speed that u set it too, but there might be a way to add a turbo boost, but idk.
