Just completed my new PC gaming build. Wireless internet runs without any problems. Ethernet shows limited connectivity UNLESS I assign a static IP and then click "validate settings upon exit". At that point the network diagnostic tool resets the network settings to DHCP and the ethernet port works for about one hour before resuming limited connectivity.

Things I've tried to no avail:
-a different ethernet port that is known to work (currently used for my wifi router)
-updating to latest ethernet drivers (i.e. uninstalling and reinstalling)
-resetting network settings with various cmd comands

The only thing that works is letting windows reset to DHCP via the diagnostic tool, note this can only be done if i try assigning a static IP. Does anyone know if there is some service that is interfering with my default DHCP settings?

Thanks in advance

Why don't you tell us first, where you get your ip address from? Is it the same router, that provides the wifi? It all sound, like the dhcp server is running out of ip addresses or the address range is used twice. The reason for the limited connectivity is pretty sure a duplicate ip address.
