I want the coolest, performance and quiet one in that order so i can go for the better card only for gaming... im leaning towards the asus and gigabyte ones... which is the best?

The Asus Strix card is the quietest as its fans don't spin at all when the temperature is below 67c. At load, it's a full 10 dBA quieter than the EVGA SC with the ACX 2.0 cooler (29 dBA vs. 39 dBA). The Strix card scored a nearly perfect 9.9/10 at TechPowerUp.

"ASUS engineered their STRIX series with a unique feature. With the card in idle or a light load, the fans will stop completely, providing a perfect, noiseless experience. Once temperatures exceed 67°C, the fans will spin up, but do so very quietly. Even while gaming at full tilt, with a full load, the ASUS STRIX GTX 970 is extremely quiet, barely audible, no matter what you throw at it. Good job, ASUS!"

Are you going to get an SLI system? Then I recommend the EVGA 04G-P4-1972-KR GTX 970 because it is a closed (radial) card, which means it blows the air straight to the back of the case. You don't want a card blowing hot air on the GPU next to it, or any other components for that matter. If not, get an open (axial card), as they typically generate less noise and have lower GPU temps. The best brands by reputation are Asus, EVGA, MSI and Sapphire.

"I find the EVGA's GTX 970 SC ACX quite noisy in both idle and load; other board partners are delivering much better noise output results by offering a semi-passive cooling solution that turns the fans off in idle and during light gaming, while operating them very quietly otherwise."
