I'm posting this here because I don't know what sort of issue this is, but it may be a hardware problem with my motherboard (?)

So the problem is as the title states, I can not start my computer without the ethernet port on my mobo being active (lit). I have found this out multiple times by transporting my PC to various locations and being unable to start it. I have to plug the ethernet cable in and hit the reset button on the mobo in order for it to become active again, and then I can start the computer like magic.

My build:

Z97 asrock xtreme4 (all parts brand new basically)
8gb ram
gtx 770
evga super nova g2 psu
i7 4770k with h100i water cooler
2 solid state drives and a hdd
fatality champion sound card

A tad bit of information that may or may not be prevelant to finding the solution here:

Shortly after I built this computer, I experienced odd phenomenon with this thing turning itself on at night like it was possessed. It became rather frustrating so I did a little bit of problem searching and found some setting somewhere and unticked a box that basically made the computer able to turn itself on randomly by receiving a packet from the interwebs (this is my entire understanding).

So there we are, hope someone can offer a simple solution to a problem I have probably created myself.

Thanks in advance!
