Hello

It looks like one of my hardware is dying on my PC :( . Whenever i game for about 20 minutes or so, my whole PC will be frozen and it makes a annoying sound like "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" lasting for few minutes until it automatically restarts my system.

And then when it started to boot itself, my motherboard is giving me 4 short beeps and I couldn't turn my PC on for about 20minutes later.

I already googled it and it says system timer failure, possibly could be graphics card, RAM or motherboard is dying

Games tested shouldn't be a issue since it pretty much happen on the games i have been playing recently. Dead Island, Divinity Original Sin, Skyrim,

I remember i gotten this problem before back in 2012 when i was playing Farcry 3 and now it's getting worse =.=

It happen on these games in order

1. Farcry 3
2. Divinity Original Sin
3. Dead Island
4. Skyrim

I'm currently using the latest AMD driver 14.4, I already tested using older drivers and it still happens :/  to me

But for today it's a little bit special, when i was playing Skyrim for 20 minutes and it froze my PC and i couldn't do anything about it so i waited and i saw the picture quality was distorted

My temperatures are always 65c during gaming never hits 70c unless it's summer in the afternoon

Here are my specs

Intel i5 3470 3.20GHz
Sapphire HD 7850 2GB
8GB RAM
Asrock Z77 PRO3
WD 1TB
PSU 650w Enermax
os: Windows 7 64Bit Ultimate SP1

Anyone knows what is causing these issues? Please do let me know i will be waiting for your help :)

Thank you

David

Sounds like your CPU/GPU are overheating, that's why you can't use it afterwards, 20min later they cool down enough to work properly again until they overheat once more.

You have 65ºC at your.... CPU and GPU? or just one of them? if so make sure to also monitor the temps of the other component.

Erm.. both CPU and GPU hardly hits 65c above during gaming unless it's summer in the afternoon which is hotter so it will reach at least 70c sometimes.

I just tested it again and it still happens to me :(  And overheating shouldn't be a problem since i was testing in my cold room in the early morning it's currently 23c outside.and my idle temperatures for my PC is 35c

Perhaps its not CPU/GPU, maybe your North Bridge is overheating, see if you can get a read of it's temps with some software like HWMonitor Pro or AIDA64, it could be due to bad air flow in your case.

Hello again :(

Just when i thought it fixes itself since it didn't happen for a week now. BUT! i was wrong :(  it did happen again! Well.. this time it's kinda different from what i was previously experiencing.

It happens when i was playing Wasteland 2 for about 20 to 30minutes or so, then my PC suddenly freezes itself and now it instantly gives out a continuously rapid beeping sound coming out from the motherboard speaker :(  I already checked my temps and it's looking alright to me.

afaik the mobo only beeps in two situations, either at POST when it detects a problem, or when it detects the CPU is overheating, having said that, you should look for info regarding the exact meaning of those beeps you're getting, perhaps you should try the tech support from your mobo manufacturer.
