Titanfall Freezing or BSOD after testing OC switch

Hello! I have an MSI board that has that little red "easy" oc switch which I've never touched until now, it's this one:

Red switch

Motherboard:

Both switches have always been set to "ON," got curious while I was working on it the other day and flicked one to "1," rebooted, and didn't see a difference in clock speed, so powered back off, put the switch back and rebooted. So everything's back the way it was.

But now when I try to play Titanfall, it freezes and gives the following error message:

"Failed to initialize Origin: the origin installation couldn't be found. a0020008"

or it gives a BSOD with a 124 error, which I read is hardware-related. I suspect it has to do with the oc switch since that's the only thing that changed.

I'd really rather not re-install Titanfall since it's a 50gb download, and also probably not the root of the problem. Somewhere I read that maybe I should flash the BIOS, is that right? I've never done that but I'm sure I could.

Anyone familiar with this issue?
Hopefully just need to figure out what needs to be reset. Thanks so much.

Haha, do you mean the OC Genie feature in MSI motherboard. Lol that switch is problematic. I have an issue once when I OC`ed using that button and my system won`t function after all.

So going back to your problem, you have mentioned that you switch back to the original position right? I would suggest to restore your BIOS settings back to its default.

Yeah I went into BIOS and set it to "load fail-safe defaults" and then "load optimized defaults" but no difference there, every guide I've seen says every bios is different so not sure exactly what else to look for.

Go to BIOS and press F12 or F9 I think, whichever is the load to defaults.

Yes thank you, tried that, no change. Also because I figured I'm already in the S, I flicked the "2" switch on the oc switch, looks like it brings my cpu core clock from 3.2 to 3.5. However Titanfall still gives the same error:

"Failed to initialize Origin: the origin installation couldn't be found. a0020008"

So still searching.

Just an update if anyone reads it, I ended up just reinstalling Windows from a flash drive onto a different HDD, and since Titanfall is on a separate SSD I didn't have to re-download or anything, but reinstalled origin just to be safe. -Still no real solution though, the HDD I was using is sitting on my desk for now.

Restore the OC switch into its original position.

0x124 is a cpu related stop error. Which means overclocking, overheating or its faulty
