I am confuzzled on which GPU I should get. Also, I keep hearing about EVGA's ACX 2.0 but I'm not sure what that's all about.

EVGA/ASUS

Copied some numbers from TechPowerUp.com

EVGA/ASUS Comparison

Specifications: Same specs except for core clock
Core Clock - 1165/1114 MHz+

Battlefield 4 1080p 4xAA
79.5/77.5 FPS

Bioshock Infinite 1080p noAA
141.5/138.0 FPS

Crysis 3 1080p 4xAA
42.5/41.5 FPS

Far Cry 3 1080p 4xAA
65.5/63.0 FPS

Metro: Last Light 1080p
83.5/80.5 FPS

Thief 1080p
124.0/120.5 FPS

Tomb Raider 1080p 4xAA
60.0/57.5 FPS

Wolfenstein: The New Order 1080p
96.0/92.5 FPS

Power Consumption:
Idle - 9/9W
Avg - 171/161W
Peak - 188/179W
Maximum - 178/173W

Fan Noise:
Idle - 30/0 dBA (not sure 0 dBA is an error)
Load - 39/29 dBA

The results are pretty close. I guess it boils down to what has better build quality or warranty.

The ACX 2.0 is a revised edition of EVGA's ACX cooler.

Is it more expensive than the 1.0.

Yes, a little bit more expensive. And that 0 dB is not an error, the Asus card's fans stop at idle.

Dont get the ACX 2.0 as its reviews are garbage. Lower cooling then the asus(about 2-5c), more noise 10db higher, etc. Its scored lower then most of its main competitor. Just get the sexy looking, cooler, and quieter card the asus strix.

Yeah, the cooling is pretty bad, and it will be annoying in the long run

Asus STRIX is cheaper, and better cooling? I guess?

yes its 10db quiet so not very audiable, better cooling for better overclocking, and is same or cheaper price.

Go For The Asus!

It has higher clock, and

THE COOLING IS UNBEATABLE!

^ Msi beats it slghtly in terms of temps, speed and noise. Although, the Strix looks better (imo) and suits builds that aren't monochrome or red/orange.
I went for the MSI, but I would have got the Strix if I didn't have a black/red setup.

i agree also with alex i was just suggesting the best out of the two options. The msi version is also very sexy so dont think your getting a uglier worse card with msi. I love msi and am liking the new frozorv cooling(forgot how to spell lol). they all are very good. by the way alex how is that 970 for you.
