This is going to be my first PC build and I am wondering if these are good parts. I am mostly going to use it for gaming and maybe a tiny bit of video editing. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I am also overclocking for the first time and could use some tips.
My budget is around $1500-$1700

I think it's overkill for your first build. You could cut prices on various items and get a better build, if you want help in choosing the parts just pm me.
Also what is your budget

Try a smaller cooler for now. 212 evo is half the price and gives similar results. Haswell doesn't clock that great anyway. Swap the gtx 770 for a gtx 970 for the same price
The motherboard is overkill but its up to you. A much more simple gigabyte or Asus will still work great and save you $80. In fact, make those three changes and you would save enough to get a 4770k instead

I second all of this. Especially the gtx 970 part.
