I'm looking for a budget video editing CPU that would be an upgrade over my current Athlon II x3 450 (AM3+) I'm looking for a AMD CPU, I don't wanna buy another motherboard etc.

I'm taking ages to render a pretty basic multi-track video.

I'm looking at the FX-6300 but I'm not sure what sort of imporvement I would be looking at.

Any suggestions?
thanks

current:
CPU: Athlon II x3 450
PSU: Corsair CX500
Motherboard: Some cheap Biostar
RAM: 8gb @1333MHz
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 7200rpm
GPU: HD7750 1GB DDR5

There will be a significant improvement over what you have right now. From what it looks like you have a descent GPU and not such a good CPU and there might be a little bottleneck happening. In my opinion its defiantly worth it. You can every try going for this > http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_1210_64&item_id=053295 I recently bought it for a PC I was building for a friend and from my experience its really decent and fast. But totally your choice, either one of them will increase your performance. Good Luck!! :)
