Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but I'm desperate lol.

But I basically just want to connect my computer to my TV . I was able to do this before using DVI-I to HDMI connector. But now since we've moved houses my computer's location is a bit further away from our main TV and my DVI-I to HDMI cord is too short. So I thought I'd just used a normal HDMI to HDMI cable since I have a long once that'l reach but the problem now is, everytime I try to do that setup, as soon as i plug it in, my computer goes haywire, the TV isn't detected and my monitor remains black, constantly switching from analog to digital. After much fiddling returning to normal setup, it now then tells me my drivers are completely corrupted.. I have no idea what the hell is happening , please help, i just want to use my TV lol.

If it helps, I have an SLI setup and the secondary card is the one with the HDMI slot. Didn't think it would matter much but could that be the problem? that I have to use the primary card? If so I might just be stuck buying a longer DVI-I to HDMI cord because my primary card does not have HDMI and I need SLI enabled for most my games.

Thanks again.

Just be ware also , that all cables have a signal length.
What I mean is depending on the quality and the price of the cable used, the longer the cable there can be more signal degradation. This is because the longer a cable the more electrical signal resistance occurs, adding to the fact of how well the cable is built against other electronic magnetic interference.its Shielding.

Valid point, but I dont think that's the case because the cable does fine when connected to my wife's laptop.

Hmm another thing I could do is switch the cards I guess, but man that's too much work and with how the PCI-Er slots are there would be no space in between the two causing higher temps, so probably wont do that lol.

I feel stupid now. I just remembered the video card came with a "mini" HDMI to HDMI adapter for this exact situation lol. I'm pretty sure it'l work fine now. Thanks again for the kind replies guys.
