I have gone back an forth about a thousand times it seems but I think i'm almost there. I don't think i'll ever overclock my cpu so an i5 4790 seems like a good choice. I was thinking the asus H97 Pro gamer looked like a pretty nice mobo to go with it but I don't see any sites that sell it. Is it not released yet? It's not on newegg but asus has a whole page talking about it. I didn't see a future release date or anything. Any thoughts on this board? Something better thats not too much more expensive?

I will game with it mostly. Nothing crazy at all and not intense gaming. I just want to be able to run what comes out over the next 3 to 5 years and not have to replace the cpu or mobo. I saw that it didn't support 2 gpu's but one video card will be enough I think. I've never had the type of rig that carried 2 video cards. Right now I have a gtx 580 but I know I'll be upgrading that sometime. For now it's fine.

Ok, so other than no dual video cards and no overclocking (both things I would probably never do anyway) the consensus seems to be that this board is a good one. Now the question is, where can i buy one? I Google it and get no vendors selling them. I also don't see any future release date anywhere. :-\ am I blind?

Oh, I was under the impression the pro gamer has features the step down models didn't. I'll have to look further at the other ones and do some side by side comparisons.
