So, I was in need of a laptop for school and instead of buying a new one with my non-existent money, i went looking through old one in the attic. I found a good looking Sony vaio and chose it because of the webcam. The hard-drive was a bust, so i chucked it and put a new one in.
Not looking at the COA sticker on the back, I freshly installed Windows 7 Pro and got everything working. I installed all the correct drivers for windows 7 and the webcam worked, but the arrow keys and quotation key didn't. So, i checked the COA sticker and realized windows vista Home was the OEM for this laptop.
So, I install windows Vista Home and get it all up and running. All the keys work, but now the webcam doesn't. Under the device manager, it says the camera is a USB" device", which is the wrong thing.. Under windows 7, it had the correct name (cant thing for the life of me what is was.) and worked. I tried to delete all the drivers and then install the correct ones. That didnt work, so i looked through a bunch of other peoples solutions and none of them helped. So now I'm here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
