Doesn't that just mean that the manufacturer overclocks the card for you rather than having to do it yourself? Just wondering if I should got with standard GTX 970s or if it's worth spending $10 more a piece to get superclocked versions.

More about : worth money buy gpu superclocked

If you plan to OC you likely wont notice any difference.
Out of the box you will, but once you OC they likely plateau at the same point.

Honestly due to the stocking situations I would take whichever is cheaper.

Don't get the standard ones, if you mean reference cards, get the custom cards. I wouldn't worry about which one has higher clock rates of the non reference cards get the cheaper one and OC it yourself.

If a GPU says it's superclocked (an Evga term) or OC'ed or anything like that, the manufacturer has already overclocked the card. If it's $10 it's definitely worth it; not because you'll get a huge increase in performance (you will get an increase), but because the cooling is likely to be much better than the stock versions of the card.

If you are going to do an all-in-one liquid cooling system then it might be worth it to get the stock, because you will get excellent cooling and can OC the crap out of it, otherwise I never buy the stock cards.

As in problems, what problems are you referring to. Also care to cite any sources on that?

Alright go to amazon search XFX r9 290x "this thing can literally heat you house, other than that it's a good card" other quote gtx780 "great card smashes crisis 3, cons heats up a lot you great cooling"

Thats not the card having issues, thats the coolers being used on them. There is a very large difference between superclocked cards having issues, compared to XFX having issues.
