My Realtek network isn't showing up under network adapters in my device manager. I tried updating the driver on the ASUS website b/c I have a Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard and when I attempted to update this driver it said the deep sleep mode was activated and I had to plug in the cable. I'm confused and from reading other posts they say to go into my device manager and deactivate it. Well, I can't do that because that driver isn't showing up nor is it downloading. I am at a loss and really could use a helping hand.

If the device isn't showing at all in Device Manager and you are seeing any "Unknown"devices then it might have failed. It doesn't happen often but it does happen.

But try a refresh in device manager. Again if you seeing nothing that is either the network adapter or something that it doesn't know what it is you are going to need to get another network interface I am afraid.

Refreshed and not showing. My network adapter is fine because my friend is using the same adapter with no issues. I would like to know what getting a new network interface entails...
