So, I've been trying to overclock my GPU, and I have it set to 850 MHz in Afterburner. It also shows up in AMD CCC and GPU-Z that the clock has changed, however, my max clock reading in both Afterburner and GPU-Z is still 830 MHz. And 3DMark also shows 830 MHz in test results. I've searched around and nothing has helped so far.

Specs: MSI Radeon HD 7950 OC (not twinfrozr)
Mobo: Asus Z97-A
CPU: i7 4970k

Thanks in advance

I had trouble overclocking my daughter's R7 265 (essentially a 7850) with Afterburner. Nothing seemed to take. So I simply used Gigabyte's overclocking tools with her MSI card. Worked like a charm.

Good luck, give it a try.

Doesn't seem to work, any other suggestions?

Does your version of the card have a physical button on the side of it for power saving / overclocking? I'm not familiar with the card. Otherwise there are other options. Have you tried Open Hardware Monitor? It will provide an unbiased reading of everything in the machine (that can be monitored, of course). I'd say try your over clocks and watch them with OHM. As soon as you apply the overclocks the GPU should spike and OHM will register it. Give it a shot.

Interesting, it worked for like, once and before benchmarking. Will continue to experiment
