I'm wondering if my 600w power supply will be enough for an upgrade. It provides 50 or 52 amps on the 12v rail and it's made by delta. But it also has been in use for almost 3 years with a hd 7770. Will it still be sufficient? What about overclocking? I was looking at getting the EVGA superclocked and see how far I could push it. Mind you this will only be temporary. I only ask because my 7770 hit the dust. I'd like to get a working pc as soon as possible.

As long as you have a decent 600w it's plenty of power for a 970.

A GeForce GTX 970 NEEDS 28 amps on the 12v + rail and at least a 500 watt power supply with 2 - 6 pin PCIE connections.

I have just built a rig with a 750W PSU with a GTX 970, and my PC resets when I try gaming. The 12v is meant to provide 44 Amps but when I monitor the voltage (with a voltmeter) during gameplay, it drops to 11 Volts, so the specs on the PSU badge are wrong! Another 500 watt PSU fairs slightly worse dropping to 10.7V although tends to allow me to play the game for a few minutes before the PC resets. I am quite worried as this build has cost me a lot and just want to sort this reset issue so I know there is not a fault elsewhere.
