Here is my computer:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.140303-2144)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: System manufacturer
System Model: System Product Name
BIOS: BIOS Date: 07/23/12 17:05:11 Ver: 08.03
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM
Page File: 1417MB used, 6768MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode

My issue I'm having is that it will constantly blue screen, freeze, and distort the picture which leads into a freeze or blue screen. Did many virus scans, many malware checks, dusted it out, cleared some data, data recovery, name it I've probably done it. I've even took it to techs, which we have 2 in our city, and neither one of them can get the job done. Only thing I haven't done is reinstall windows and I want that as a last resort.

A long time ago it was my controller but that was long fixed, now its just constant errors. DXdmg, irql_not_less_or_equal, bad_poolheader, even told me it was straight up corrupted. I searched for a fix for every blue screen error I've ever had and it did nothing. I'm at wits end and ready to just throw this thing out and get a new computer. I'd hate to, seems like a waste to throw out a gaming computer that runs games so smoothly, but yet it has issues.

Looks like a homebuilt deal. Sorry it's gone wonky on you. It's not that old of a machine (2 years?) so not sure why it's having so many issues. Does it have a discreet graphics card? Did you recently install any new hardware or software? Have you tried a system restore? Windows creates restore points when you run updates or install software. You can try to do a restore to a date before it started going crazy. Not sure if that would help, but worth a shot. You could try and reinstall windows, but that might not fix the issue, and you are right, it can be a pain. If the restore doesn't work, try a clean Windows install. It's better than throwing out the otherwise decent PC.

No discreet graphics card, yes to software but it doesn't appear to be the issue after uninstalling the software, I did many a system restore and its still the same problem. I'm working on fixing it myself till I come to an actual solution, I'll give it a month before I say its really fixed, it could restart itself or something within that time.

I think the next step would be a clean Windows install. It's worth a shot and it might fix the issue. Well worth the alternative, which is to throw parts at it or get a new machine. Backups and restores aren't difficult, just time consuming :kaola:. Could you write down the error code the blue screen is showing? That code can give you clues. Another thing I would try is to check the Windows event recorder logs, and that would give you a better idea of whether it's software or hardware. The event logs are broken down in categories, two of the important one is system (which deals with hardware-level events), and applications, which deals with software events. Any time you see a lot of red circles with exclamation marks in a row, you could trace the issue and narrow it down.

Jesus...theres over 500 of those errors in the administrative events alone. I'll see what else I can find and see if I can fix anything, I'll be back here if things go sour.
