So I already had 4gb of ram and decided to treat my self to an upgrade by buying 8gbs more RAM!

There the same brand and line of ram (Viper) except with a few differences, the 8gb kit is faster and I know due to being with my slower ram it wont be as fast as it and rather matching speeds with the other 4gb RAM.

So well there be any problems? Well any issues arrive if I just plug them all in? Whats the worst that can happen? I mean it wont destroy anything... right???

Thanks!

And for Reference here are the RAM sticks:

The one I have right now:

And the one I just ordered:

Thanks again!

They may or may not work together, any time you mix DRAM it's a crapshoot, the forums are full of folks mixing sets (even the same identical sets) that just won't play together....if you have any problems w/ them give me a shout can possibly get all to play at 1866 or at least 1600 with some timing/voltage adjustments
RAM is very finnicky and even if you have identically rated sticks it sometimes can be a pain to make it work. You SHOULD be fine with running them all together at the slowest ones ratings. If it doesnt work someone here will be able to troubleshoot for you I'm sure.

Honestly 8gb is probably plenty anyways, I would just run the new 8gb you purchased on their own

Thanks man, I know 8gb is plenty but it was so inexpensive and so I just did it. If it does not work then I will stick with 8gb RAM. I just want to know if it is possible these can work together and if there would be any hardware damage. Thanks!

Alright, I will keep that in mind, but there so close in specs and stuff I am going to give it a try. Whats the worst that can happen? Seriously, well something fry? Can there be any hardware damage by trying this? Or well it just not work and not damage anything?

Thanks!

Alright, I trust you!

A friend of mine was in the same position and said his motherboard just configured the best settings so they can work together and its stable so I have hope!

Thanks!
