After installing a new CPU

When you are done installing a CPU.. Do you just turn on your computer normally or do you have do some other stuff like going into the BIOS or something like that. Im installing a Intel Core i5 into my motherboard.

Shouldn't need to go into BIOS it should be auto-configured when you turn the machine on. As long as your current BIOS support the chip you're going to be adding, it should be plug and play.
 
You should still go in to set the time, enable / disable AHCI or secureboot if its a recent mobo. Disable things you dont want, like Speedstep which I dont use, enable TPM if its disabled since I use it

You dont just go into the BIOS to overclock a system
 


Similarly you don't advise someone to go into BIOS just to set things up which 'you' set up. None of them is compulsory.
