Hi All,

I need to do a fresh install of win7x64 for my Laptop (Acer aspire 7750G). (Have backed up everything to external HDD so everything can be wiped). However, I don't have the drivers disc (do have win7 64bit disc ready).

My question is, if I go to this link

http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/drivers

And download all the listed drivers to USB pen, and run one-by-one from the newly installed windows, are these all that are required? And will it work? Is there anything I'm potentially missing?

No experience in this field!
Thanks

It should be, but in experience it never is! Copy your entire windows folder to a usb stick if you can, then if it goes wrong you have them somewhere. Failing that just the drivers folder.

If you have the WiFi and Ethernet drivers you should be ok though

Well, not that link specifically - you'd want to search your specific model number (I'm assuming you did but covering my bases)

And it should work if you do it the way you describe.

@Videographer - Is copying the windows folder and the drivers folder an alternative to the route I'm potentially going to go down? Meaning can I just copy these two and replace what's there on a fresh windows install? Or would you recommend going with downloading from Acer and then running off USB

@Entomber - Yeah that's right. I filled in the Model / Windows version.

Probably better off to download the latest drivers from Acer . they might be newer than what you already have. And since it is a fresh install, probably better to install everything fresh..

Also - the order you install the drivers in matters! See this list from Dell:

Best to get them from Acer. My idea is a safety net in case you can't find one of them
