Hi Everyone.

I have same or very similar problem as here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/382885-33-help-dual...

Let me explain my current setup first:
- Windows 8.1
- graphics card: nvidia 780 (Zotac)
- my main PC monitor is connected via HDMI cable to the only HDMI output socket on graphics card
- second screen is a tv, connected in this way: DVI output -> DVI to HDMI adapter -> HDMI cable -> Receiver (Yamaha) -> TV (Sony)
- newest drivers and all system updates installed

I can make them both working nicely, no issues with it (duplicate or extend, all work)
The problem starts when I turn off my TV or when I switch the source of TV signal on receiver (to actually watch TV). When I do such things, my main PC monitor goes black - like no signal goes to it - the power diode starts to blink like in stand by mode. Even when I change the settings in windows and set it to display only on main display (number one), it does it, TV goes blank as intended, I can see image on my main screen... and then I turn off TV and main screen goes blank.

How do I fix it ? I have to pull out the DVI plug from graphics card (the one which goes to Yamaha receiver). Then the main monitor turns on immediately. But of course, I don't want to plug and unplug the DVI each time I want to watch some media from PC on TV... it could eventually damage my hardware.

Any ideas ?
I can provide much more details if required, just please let me know what to do. I already lost all home, so please help :)

Direct connection from DVI (still via converter to HDMI) to TV, skipping receiver, solved it for me, as a workaround.
So I still think that root cause of improper behaviour is graphics card, but receiver triggers it.
