I have to re format my pc/laptops a lot resulting in hours of updates and program re installations, which is frustrating.
Once I have reinstalled windows 7 and all updates to current date, is it possible to create an install disk/usb of this fresh and fully updated install so I when I re format I don't have to go through all the updates etc?

Thanks for your help

Yes, it's called "backup" software.

1. Make sure your irreplaceable files are backed up or saved to another disk (CD, DVD, flash drive, etc.).

2. Do the clean reinstall of Windows. Apply all of the Microsoft patches.

3. Copy back onto your hard drive those irreplaceable files from #1.

4. Purchase a backup software application. I like Acronis True Image 2014, but others will work just as well.

5. Use the software to make a backup of your hard drive's contents. Depending on the size, you may need to get some sort of external drive, or simply buy a 300-500GB (or larger) secondary drive that you plan on using exclusively for backup purposes.

6. Keep the backup in a safe, secure place.
