2 Dimms vs 4 Dimms for overclocking?

Hi. This had been asked frequently before but I would like to ask it again due to having a different component that could raise the question.

This is my current components:
Asus Maximus VI Extreme
Intel i7 4770k
Geil 8 GB @ 1333MHz
H100i

Now what I would like to ask is whether 4 Dimms would affect this dual channel mobo in terms of overclocking?

I have my eyes particularly set on Avexir Red 1600MHz or some Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer and I'm thinking of getting a total of 16GB so either 2x8 or 4x4. The reason I want to possibly go for a 4x4 is because 4 dimms looks cooler than two in my case right now but I am currently overclocking the cpu so I'm a little anxious that using 4 dimms would affect my overclock even though my mobo's IMC is very good.

Edit:
I am currently running:
-4.3GHz @ 1.25vcore
I am still trying to look for my max but I think I've bought a rather unlucky chip

Solution
The DIMM slots filled out have little to do with CPU OC, but I'd go for 2X8GB against 4 sticks. Here's why:
-Less upgradability, if you want more memory, like 24GB, you'd need to dispose your current 4 sticks as sticks are not too fond of mixing.
-More load on MC giving slightly lower performance (not considerably lower) on 4 sticks vs 2.
-4 would run as 2X2 pairs anyways so makes no difference in terms of Channels.

It would be more voltage on the north board to power 4 sticks over 2. Naturally more heat will be created and can bring your socket temp up ever so slightly depending on where that temp sensor is located (mine is right between the dimms and and the CPU socket) . so its better to go with less. What's even cooler than 4 sticks is having a reason to need all 4 dimms (3d animator/hobbyist etc)
