  1. GTX 970 or 980 will be just fine
  2. 280X, 770 or 290

While staying on the cheaper end

No point in getting actually any of those now. The 970 performance and cost> all except the 280X but even then its worth the extra money

Im still struggling to come to a desicion
  5. I would go with the GTX 970 personally. Even as an AMD fanboy I have to admit that Nvidia gives very good pricing for the GTX 900 series cards :p The prices are AMD like :P The GTX 970 over the R9 290 anyday for me.
  6. The 970 is the best choice right now on the market. I would get that.

I notice there is a £200 price diffrence between the 970 and 980 is the cost worth it or is the 970 going to be just as fine at 60 fps is 980 overkill or is it standard and 970 lower end?

so if i have a 970 i could jump on most games on ultra
  9. Well the 980 I think is 7 percent better than the 780ti which is about 700 US dollars. The price for performance for the 980 which is the top of the line is well worth it. That'll play all the games you want for quite a while.

The 980 will future proof you more than the 970 will. Running games at Ultra now is fine for the 970 but down the line who knows.

If you can afford the 980 I would definitely go for it assuming the rest of the computer is able to handle it. The 970 and the 980 provide the best value for your money right now.
