Hello,

After a long hiatus from desktop machines and a workable budget, I've finally decided to build my own. My knowledge is rather out of date, and I've tried my best to read up, but still leave myself with a few questions.

I would like some advice on this build:

Currently there is no case fan / compound etc added because I am a bit clueless there. Also the GFX card selected is currently on preorder so I will most likely end up changing it out for something similar in price / performance as I intend to do this purchasing at the weekend.

The pc will mostly be running 25 man raiding in WoW, but I will also be playing a few upcoming games like the new SC2 / borderlands on it.

Is there anything insanely out of whack? Any bottlenecks? My working budget is between 750-850 with a little wiggle room if I find myself at some kind of 'value breakpoint'.

Some of the parts are missing delivery costs, so if we end up at the upper end of my budget, but then have 5 different unlisted delivery fees, I might have to cut back.

Also I might have to pay someone local to help with the building, my right hand is currently rather jacked and I wouldnt trust myself too much when it comes to handling the cpu :)

Thanks for your time.

You can get ALMOST the same performace with a Xeon 1230 v3. and they are only about £180. Also, I think you could probably get a better mobo for similar money if you went for a H87 chipset instead, but the one you have picked is OK. Stock cooler is fine btw unless you really really want that Zalman

The build is ok in general though. Not sure about the graphics card fitting in that case, I havent got one to hand to check :p

For case fans you'll just want to spend £5-10 a fan on whatever size you need, one front and one rear
For "compound" the one that comes with the coolers is fine, but if you want something better I would get MX4 or Arctic Silver 5

Thanks for the feedback, I will take a look at the benches for the cpu you suggested. And will also look into the h87. Will remove the Zalman too and see where I end up price wise, should get an updated list on here late tonight early tomorrow.
