hello i bought a latop with 8gb samsung 12800 memory init think it was 9 clocks at 800mhz

so i got a 4gb extra ram quite cheap it was corsair but it was pc3-10700 lower frequency 667 mhz

now the ram speed is lower but at 12 gb

will this really make a big different in perrofrming or shall i put the 4gb out and match the 8gb 12800 one?

More about : bought ram sticks

The RAM will try to perform at the slower speed so you will be losing performance. It's better to get an equal speed RAM with the same CAS and frequency so that you wont get any problems.

Unless your trying to do graphic design, cad, or anything else that is a memory hog, I would just stick to 8 gb or ram. 8Gb or ram is more then enough for everyday work and gaming.

I agree, 8 GB is fine you don't need to 12GB as you will hardly notice any difference in gaming. He probably solved your solution XD

Yes, because the lower clock speed on that RAM stick will hinder the other RAM stick from doing its job. Try to get some name brand laptop memory if you want. If not buy 12gb worth of ram that is the same and faster.
