I have a Seagate HDD and a Samsung SSD inside my Corsair 200R case but when I mounted them the I forgot to screw them, they've been running for about a month now, is it necessary to screw them? which could be the consequences of letting them unscrewed?

My Mobo also has a feature called "HDD Saver" how much does this wide the HDD lifrespan?

Solution
If your case has a tool-less/no screw drive bay no screw's are needed.
If they use screws better to screw them, because if you move your system it can get loose and drop inside. Also HDD's spin, if not screwed they can cause annoying sound.

I guess you are using Asrock board if you have this feature. I do not think a software solution can extend a HDD life by much, and HDD's should last around 5 years without any saver technology :)

What this does is to power the drives that are not or very occasionally used (like a backup drive). It wouldn't have any impact on your main drive.

Just dont let the HDD fall and you should be fine. I am so picky that i would open my case and screw them in lol.

They will keep working but if your case falls over or gets kicked it could move around the HDD.

Below is some info on HDD Saver.

Thanks for answering, tomorrow I'll install the HDD Saver and I'll probably leave the hard drives without screwing as it's hardly improvable that the case falls (it's on the floor).
Gave best answer to Bluemoon_9 because of more extended explanation.
