Game: Rome Total War II
Ultra Settings

My System
Case: Azza Solano 1000
PSU: Thermaltake SM850
MB: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 8350 (Non OC)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 560ti
RAM: Corsair Vengence 8GB 1600
HDD: 1TB WD

The game runs pretty good at these settings until I get into a large clustered melee. I begin to have lower frames then and only then. I believe my bottleneck is simply the GPU since the FX 8350 is a very good chip and I'm not looking to upgrade it until who knows when. What does the community suggest? Would I see my greatest overall performance increase in this game with a GPU upgrade?

The main bottleneck is the game. It's not very well optimized.

Apart from that, yes, your GPU is the bottleneck in your system.
CPU has quite an impact on RTW2 too though, even mild overclocking yielded pretty good results with my 8150.

The CPU is probably the main bottleneck but the GPU doesnt help. If you look at your cpu performance core 0 will be at 100% while your other cores pretty much idle. The game is bassically single threaded and makes the CPU perform quite a bit of the GPUs job. Its very frustrating
