this is the clear winner, not through RAM but CPU performance wise. Ram get's you hardly any difference in gaming, but since you are doing editing just grab the 16gb in this system since it's better. The CPU is better than the FX processor any day, since it's devil's canyon and intel is more powerful than AMD.

Why not choose a build with i5 4690k and gtx 970? It will outperform both the options listed in games at a lower price overall.

The 8350 is the WORST option you could possibly choose if you want to keep it for 5 years. It is already weak, outdated and power hungry. I don't understand your logic. You would rather choose 8350 over 4690k? The longevity of the 4690k beats the 8350 hands down. Please be clear with your thoughts.

While that being true I suggest he sticks to an I7 and then get a Higher End card later, the 970's are still on their reference models with their crappy coolers... I would wait till one with an aftermarket cooler is released. Still the r9 290 is on PAR with the 970 they both have practically the same performance and will last him a looooong time. Since games get maxed out with even a 270x-280. He is fine.

And please, do not bash him. We are here to teach others and improve our learning as well. I suggest you do not insult him because you and I aren't perfect in the computer sense as well.

Build 2 is the easy winner minus the MSI board.

I just noticed that he has a SLI board. He will need a board certified for CFX as well.

Wouldn't have the money for the i5 4690k and r9 290. I have to choose between them two :p

Also, if I were to buy amd system,
What should I get:
An extra 8gb ram
SSD 120gb
or an extra: 1TB hard drive?

AMD system is going bad already...but if you must know I would get another 1TB HDD for your work. 16GB is good for what you need for your videos. But I would go intel if you want to keep that system for a long time.

Is video editing your job? If not, then I'd go with the AMD build for better gaming. If video editing is most important, then why not look for some benchmarks comparing the 8350 to the i7 in video editing tasks and decide then

I'd also grab a 970 instead of a r9 290 since it's cheaper and better

970s with reference coolers? Yeah....no. Actually, good luck finding a 970 with a reference cooler, almost all use aftermarket. 980s on the other hand...

What do you base this on? Do you have any personal experience with MSI Intel boards?

I have an MSI mobo and it has performed flawlessly for the past year. Also, I'm on this site nearly every day and I see many more ppl posting about problems with Asus and Gigabyte boards.

Why would you get a XEON? they will most likely hinder your Job... I wouldn't suggest a server processor for daily tasks. I would rather just get a 4770 than a Xeon.
