Hey all, I want to start gaming on my PC but not sure that I can with what's inside it right now.
I have a Dell Optiplex 755 SFF and here's some more info:
Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz
4 GB Ram (3.24 GB usable)
32-bit operating system
at the moment the graphics card that it came with is a Intel Q35 Express Chipset Family, Internal, 256MB. I have a 1920 x 1080 screen

I'm wondering what kind of card I will need to be able to play some PC games like DayZ,Minecraft,Counter Strike e.t.c.

Thanks and have a nice day

HD 7750 would be the best one to pair with your E6550.

I would suggest getting the GTX 750. The power consumption from that one is minimal.

okay, this is good information. seeing the size of the case and back of the machine tells a lot. one more question......... what cable are you using to hook up your monitor......... ( what does the end of the cable look like ) ANOTHER PICTURE WOULD HELP IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE TERMINOLOGY.

That small form factor and power supply of 275 watts really limits your options. Honestly, your processor is going to slow any modern game pretty badly as well, it doesn't even meet the minimum requirements for DayZ.

A GT 610 video card is one of the only cards that will fit in that case using that power supply. It's not a great card, but still better than integrated graphics, or equivalent to the a fore mentioned Radeon 5450. The GT 720 would be much better, but I believe the heat sink makes it too wide for that particular case.

A GT 610 is about $40-50 and might allow you to play games on low settings. Unfortunately, without upgrading the rest of your pc, you don't have many options.

it's a killer getting a single slot, low profile card that will work with your power supply. best I can do right now for the time.

how's this 1? SAPPHIRE 100357LP Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card

might be a little more power hungry. also OP might not want to mess with having to remove the back plate or wonder why he's going to have an "extra wire going nowhere? not all people know how to work on stuff.

this is one of those all or nothing deals. the low end graphics card would make the biggest dent in the system as is. but without reconsidering a new build most suggestions would be fruitless. you don't have enough power supply to run a big card. if you get a big card and a power supply to run it.......... your cpu will hold you back.

A 7750 / 7770 / 760 / 670 / 260X, they are all good choices. The thing is, better card = better performance. My recommendation would be a GTX 670, since its a little older, and would fit well with your PC. You can try for a 660ti, but 670 is the better bet. You get what you pay for! Good Luck!
