I've got a brand new Gigabyte 970A-DS3p with AMD FX 8350 CPU, 32 GByte RAM and Radeon R7 260X graphics card. DVD is connected to SATA 0, and SSD-disk to SATA 1. When powered on, fans (CPU/Graphics/chassie) are starting, but nothing more. No beep, no nothing. I have no connector on the ATX 12V on mobo. Could this bee the problem ?

Yes. It sure could.

Does your mobo and PSU have the right connections?

Sounds like the problem. You cannot just not connect the 4 pin CPU power connector (12v) on the MB. It is not optional.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. My PSU doesn't have a 4-pin connector that fits.

As I understand it, the 4-pin ATX 12V should be used if the PSU has an older 20-pin main connector, In my case the PSU has the new ATX v2.3 and provides power through the 24-pin connector, and the 4 pin ATX12V need not be used, see http://compreviews.about.com/od/cases/a/ATX12VvATX.htm

so my problem remains, no boot, no beep, no video

more suggestions pls

"and the 4 pin ATX12V need not be used" - that is wrong.

Both need connected:
1.1 x 24-pin ATX main power connector
2.1 x 4-pin ATX 12V power connector

Your power supply may have a 4+4 connector that can be split. See figure 11:
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Everything-You-N...

Without that connected the CPU is not receiving any electrical power.

The million dollar question. What is name and model of your PSU?

Should be enough power, make sure both power connections to the mobo are snug, if problems continue, would drop and start with 1 stick of DRAM, 32GB may and probably does need additional voltage to bothe the DRAM and the CPU/NB (your MC (memory controller) voltage)

Problem solved !! Adding the ATX 12V was a requisite. Then removing all mems, and carefully inserting them one by one, and verifying boot between each. Thanks all.
