Hello before I overclocked my 9500 GT DDR2 to 650 MHz core and 470 MHz memory (from 550 and 400) (didnt push it until I saw artifacts) I had about 50-90 fps on TF2 with Chris Max Quality config and maxed settings. Now after the overclock even when on stock stuff the game at max settings uses a massive amount of vram all of the sudden (950 MB and i've never seen it use moer then about 600 or so) and i'm getting about 20-35 fps.
Any idea whats wrong with it? Without the overclock I had it on stock fan speed (Which was locked at 50% all the time even at 70C) and with MSI Afterburner I set the fan speeds etc at which point it will go to you know the basics. After the fan speed and overclock at max I saw 72C. I saw 0 artifacts in all my games and even with the heaven benchmark saw 0 artifacts.
The heaven benchmark said I went from 43X(8?) to 51X(3?) with the score which is about a 20% increase in score. I even noticed in 1 area where I ran at 15 fps it went to 19 fps.
In l4d2 (same engine as tf2 for those who don't know but coded differently/more graphically intensive?) I actually saw a slight increase in fps (from around 20- 35 it went to 25-40).
