Hello!
I have been working on this problem for a while and cannot seem to get it right :/  Looking for someone to help :)

At my office we use an exchange command to assign pictures to our active directory profiles. Problem happened though when someone asked to have there picture removed. I put in a command to remove it and it said it was successful but when I open up outlook I can still see there picture.

One thing that wasss changed was the outlook Directory. It appears it's been removed from there but everyone in the office still sees her picture regardless of it not pulling up when you do a search for her name in the outlook directory (other people with pictures assigned show up with there picture when you search there name in the outlook directory).

I suspect it is because somehow outlook (not exchange) cached this picture somehow? idk let me know if you think you might have an idea

Most likely the local client cached the picture, to fix this on all workstation you may need to turn off cached exchange mode then delete every users cache file from their local machine I believe. What happens if you try and change the picture to something else?

if I change it to something else it doesn't update. Everyone is already off cached exchange mode.

Looking further I found that everyone that sees the picture appears to have a contact of her as well, and that contact file has the picture in it it looks like. If I remove the contact the picture is gone. but I don't know why everyone has a contact of her and why that contact file has a picture saved. It looks like everyone has contacts of the whole firm but no one created these... weird

That may then have to do with the offline address book, check and see if that is enabled in group policy, however the offline address book should update every 24h

Gotcha, I think after I changed the picture I noticed it didn't change and didn't give it 24 hours before removing it. I changed it again, I'm going to give it a day or two, and see if it finally syncs. It also looks like I have 2 exchange servers here. I think there replicated, but I will change the picture on both just in case.
