So I'm very new, and inexperienced with this. I mostly looked at ratings, and did some Google searching. I'm looking to build a rig for about 1000-1400..preferably somewhere in the middle. I want to be able to support gaming for years to come. I have 3 monitors that I'd like to be able to use as well. I have a 2 TB drive already which is why I haven't selected one. I'm also shooting for a blue theme. All comments, suggestions, tweaks area greatly appreciated.

size of ram in GB has no performance impact unless you fill it up and there are no games that can fill up 8GB of ram so 16Gb would make 0 difference
i7 has hyper threading thats the only difference between i5 and i7 and 99% of games cant use hyper threading it is mostly used in software such as video editing.
HDD is the slowest part on your computer and ssd is 10x faster so having one as boot drive with operating system on it would make your computer a lot more responsive.
i Swapped mobo because its older z87 and its price is too high for what you get asrock...
you are spending money in the wrong places do something like this 16GB of ram is complete overkill and gtx 980 is cheaper and matches the TI and you had no power supply, 4790k is more expensive but in games has no benefit over the i5.

Is there no performance difference between 8GB and 16GB?
So what is the i7 namely for?
Do I need a SSD?
Why'd you swap the MOBO and will that GPU support multiple monitors?

and yes gpu can support many monitors at once.
