I have an FX 6300 and I want to overclock it 4.2-4.5 to get the best from my graphics card (I have the R9 280x). I have a Zalman Z3 plus case which I believe is well ventilated and a corsair 600 psu. My concern is my motherboard, I was on a tight budget and cut my options down in this category so I ended up with the gigabyte 78lmt, I am not reading much about stable/successful clock with this or similar set up.

Please comment and give some suggestions, is my set up fine for clocking? The psu, board, cooling ect ect?

Some info on this will down swimmingly, please refrain from recommending alternative motherboards ect as my budget will not allow this at the moment, I will be using a cool master hyper 212 for CPU cooling naturally. Thanks guys.

960g= pretty much no overclocking going to happen. The VRMs can barely handle the load at stock speeds.

Agreed . I wouldn't overclock on that board you put your other components at risk.

What board would be adequate for my needs? I wouldn't have the largest budget so military grade parts not required :-).... Just a decent upgrade that can pull off the clock. Thank you.

Don't listen to these guys, I have this board with about 1000 other happy people. There is a massive thread at overclock.net with this cpu/board combo. I have mine right now at 4.69ghz using the 212 evo. Although during the hot summer I had to drop down to 4.5ghz. This board has a VRM heatsink and quality mosfets. Board is fine for mild overclocks. It just won't handle the power requires of heavy overclocking for the 83xx series chips. And I haven't heard of one single person frying this board from overclocking.
