Hi looking to upgrade my gpu currently have a HD5670 1GB card, now im looking at an R7260X i know it needs a 6 pin pci-e power connector. My PSU is a Liteon 300w i have checked and the 12+ powers 19A so i am assuming it will work? system specs are:
CPU:I7 860 @2.8
6 GB Ram
1x 500 GB HDD
1X 200 GB HDD
1X 60GB OCZ Agility SSD
HD5670 1GB GC(looking to replace)
PSU 300 W supports 19A on 12+ rail
Samsung PP250 HD Monitor
Razer Black Widow Gaming Keyboard
R.A.T 7 Black Ops Stealth Gaming Mouse

Anyway hope someone can give me an answer as i want to order in the next 2 days, and thankyou in advance.

you might think it has enough power until your PS starts to smoke. it'll be overloaded almost continually and the system will not
run well. upgrade it. I had a bad one go with a 5450on it......... was a 15 amp.

Ok then is a 750Ti a better upgrade option for the psu? can't afford to buy both atm, and need a Gpu upgrade badly, i prefer AMD over Nvidia but if needs must...

A 750ti will work even on a 250w power supply, so if you can't afford both the video card and the power supply upgrade for it just go with a video card that won't peek over the pci express max power load. I would try getting the asus version of the card though, some of the older 1st gen intel boards have had bios issues with the cards from people like evga etc.. but I got one as a gift to my friend and asus was nice enough to provide a flash for the card so that it would work with the older system, not sure if that still is a problem anymore or not.

Ok many thanks, as a side note to this the 750 Ti is not as good as the R7260x right? I heard the memory is really underclocked and that it didn't push very good framerates in games like BF4 etc is this true? And once again many thank to the both of you for your input.

I really don't like this advice. very poor advice in fact.

Ok Swifty i appreciate your stance here, and on that note i am going to get this card instead http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-evga-gtx-650-supercl...(x16)-5000mhz-gddr5-gpu-1202mhz-cores-384-dvi-mhdmi it has the same tdp as my HD5670 which is overclocked and runs no problem at all on my PSU i was a bit peed off last night finding i only had a 300w PSU and wasn't thinking straight tbh i have done plenty of research regarding the aforementioned card and am 100% sure it will work no problems. I will ultimately replace my PSU when i have the funds to buy a decent 600-700w one.

Thanks for the help and advice.

if you're confident you picked the right card that's okay by me. I was concerned about the small supply and the 750.............. but I thought the gtx650 was a little older and of different design. and thought it was more power hungry?? I could be wrong. I don't want to see you screw yourself.

Well the 650 has a maximum draw or TDP of 64 w my HD5670 draws 61 non oc and 64 oc that is how i am saying in this case it will work without any problems, and yeah i appreciate the help here im not that savvy with PSU's tbh i know enough to get by, but having a really weak card in a fairly decent system is spoiling my enjoyment of games BF3/4 etc and i just need a good upgrade, but my funds are limited really atm.
