I will try to explain the best that i can.

When i try to rename a video it will turn into a file and be come unusable.I have run virus and malware scans and came up empty.
 
Solution
You are probably changing the file extension. You want to hide your file extensions by default, then you can rename the files. Go to folder options, click the view tab, then advanced tab check " hide file extensions"

This is a video file. So .m4v or something like that would be at the end. Try to rename the file but leave everything after the period. If it works then its because you are removing the file extension. You can then take the above steps to hide the extension.

Example: Myvideo.MP4 rename to video1.MP4. Make sure to leave the .MP4 in the new file name.
