I had problem with fans that worked with 3,5k rpm while drivers was showing 45% fan speed. I wanted to fix it by changing bios, uninstalling drivers, CMOS and nothing helped so I opened the card, applied new thermal paste and boosted it um without fans. It worked great, but then I attached only one fan while secound was separated. In this exact moment there was sparkle near fan socket and card died. Is it completly dead or I can do something to fix it?

Solution
They are made to be manufactured and tested using surface mount technology to keep the costs down. If you try to remove a component by hand you will put too much heat into it and destroy it.
