I.T. pro having problems with my ssd, will not format or erase no matter what someone help !!!

ssd= pny 64 GB SSD

i have formatted in every way possible even through windows setup it keeps coming back not just the drive my old windows files too

So you booted from the dvd if youre trying to reinstall windows on it?? Is that what you mean??

Did you delete the partition in setup before trying to reinstall windows on it?

yes i tried deleting the whole partition and then i just restarted the computer but when i looked all my files were still there

(btw this ssd is an extra im just trying to format and clean it i have a ssd with an o.s. on it already)

so im not necessarily trying to install windows on it just trying to delete all the infor off it

So, it wont format from within windows either? Since youre using an SSD with an OS on it already?

What if you go to disk management highlight it then do a quick format. Does it work?

just to be clear the ssd does have an o.s. on it but im not running windows from the ssd

and no it says its formatting and then after its complete all the old files are still on the drive

Put it in another system then . See if it works. If it doesnt there's something wrong with it then. Or try another SATA port
