Hi there, i have a question for you guys! I have a brand new rampage iv extreme which was working fine, now i can't change the bios with the little button and the rog button to flash bios does not light up if kept pushed for 3 seconds. Is my motherboard faulty? Or is it something else like cpu, gpu? When i try to power it on i get error code 32 ( always gave me this on bios 2) but now can't switch back to bios 1, is it the motherboard the problem?

Solution
The Rampage IV Extreme has UEFI firmware, not BIOS firmware. Minor detail, but it important.

You should be able to use the USB Flashback method to overwrite the firmware completely. This method can be done without having a CPU installed. It is important that you use a USB mass storage device with a supported file system and the firmware image must be named appropriately.

I have no display so the only solution would be usb flashback, but i have a really important question i must ask: when pressing the rog button for 3 seconds, will it light up only if there is a working usb? Just to make sure if my usb works (fat32) because when i press the rog button there are no lights.

Im using a mp3 usb player formatted in fat32, all my sticks are usb 3.0 :(
Tomorrow ill get an usb 2.0 and will try!
But my question is still there, pressing the ROG chain button should make some kind of light? Because when i press that button is like if its not even connected to the board..
Thanks for helping me figuring this out!

If all of your USB ports are 3.0, pushing the button should work. Try loading the latest MB drivers starting with the chipset, then the rest. If you already have the latest loaded, reload them.

Could check in device manager and see if there are any yellow markers on any devices, especially the USB's.

I would but im stuck out of my system like this, stuck on bios 2 with no display or pci cards detected and debug error code 32!
Trying to figure if its mobo fault for all this, since i powered off system and in the morning this happened!

booting with one stick of ram gave me BF debug code, but i do think the mobo is faulty because i can't change from bios2 to bios1 and when pressing the rog flash button nothing happens, no lights nothing. And another important thing is: all the voltiminder leds on the motherboard are all lighted up and all steady green, motherboard dead?

An MP3 player may not work. It may appear as a storage device to the operating system, but that doesn't mean that it is a drop in replacement for a USB mass storage device which is a special class of device. A USB 3.0 device should work fine.

Yes i tried with different ram in different positions, i still don't know if pressing the rog button should make some light if usb was not recognized.. Also all those steady green leds are really weird! Maybe mobo its bricked..

One last thing you can try is to unplug the PSU and all other devices attached to the MB. Then take the MB battery out for 10 to 15 mins. I would leave it out longer, some. Then reassemble your comp with the minimum components to boot with like keyboard, mouse, monitor and see if you can get into bios. Flash it if you can and set it up and load all the latest drivers if still having some problems.

Check around, there could be a short somewhere too. Like in the back panel where devices are attached. maybe a spacer too tight?

Rampage IV Black Edition. It's a newer board based on the same design. It may be a few dollars more expensive but should not be significantly so.
