Hi currently I'm using a msi 970a g43 mobo and I had to restart it by hold the power button cause it was hanging in the shut off screen but now when I turn on the USB keyboard wont power nor will the mouse which it has always done this since I've had it but now my pc needs me to use the keyboard to select an option to boot up and it doesn't have a count down so it's stuck there until I can get my board to work. Can someone please help me please, I can use my pc until then! All help is appreciated thanks in advance!

Does the keyboard/mouse work in another PC? If no, then they are likely dead.

Try to unplug and plug them into different USB ports (back of the case directly on mobo probably better than one connected to the case for troubleshooting), uncluding after the PC is sitting and waiting for your input.

Try to reset the CMOS/BIOS/UFEI by way of button or jumper on the motherboard - I recall some have a USB keyboard at boot type option and this may be turned off (and the reset could turn it back on).
