Hi everyone, I have an issue running Borderlands 2 on my PC. (Nvidia Geforce GTX 660, AMD FX 6200, 10 GB RAM) So basically, when I;m walking around I get a decent 80 ish FPS. When I get into gun fights, it drops to 40-30. The game isn't graphically amazing as you know. If someone could tell me a good combination of settings to use, or how to fix this (I don't think its normal) then please say! Thanks!

Could be any number of things, there really isn't enough information to be able to make any judgement. What I can tell you is that a GTX660 should be more than fine with Borderlands2 (80fps seems perfectly reasonable) though this will obviously depend on the settings you are running. PhysX can and will hurt performance so this is something to consider.

The most obvious and easiest thing is if Vsync is on. If it is, try turning it off and see how you get on.

Second is probably checking drivers etc.

Third is hardware. If you are still having issues then it's worth looking into your CPU/GPU load and temperatures while gaming. If any of those are particularly high they might indicate a problem. The FX6200 is not a particularly strong...

If you haven't done so already, make sure your graphics card is handling the PhysX instead of your CPU. You can check/change it from your NVidia control panel.

But yeah, I had the same situation where my FPS would just nosedive, sometimes slow to a crawl during certain fights, and moving the PhysX from CPU to GPU worked wonders.

I hope this helps.

The FX6200 is not a particularly strong CPU, but it's unlikely to be causing any issues here unless it is overheating.
